The California Community Colleges is the largest system of higher education in the nation, with 2.1 million students attending 115 colleges. The Association of Independent California College and Universities (AICCU) serves as the statewide voice of independent higher education in California. The AICCU is comprised of 83 independent, nonprofit colleges and universities, which make up the Independent California College and Universities (ICCU) sector. AICCU institutions are located throughout the state with 26 main campuses located in Northern California and 56 main campuses located in Southern California. Armed Forces
The U.S. Armed Forces are made up of the five armed services branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy. There are three general categories of military people: active duty (full-time soldiers and sailors), reserve & guard forces (usually work a civilian job, but can be called on to full-time military duty), and veterans and retirees (past members of the military).

Apprenticeships
California Apprenticeship Programs
The Registered Apprenticeship system of training is unique in that it is the only formal, structured, and nationally recognized education and training program available that combines the two most common forms of career and occupational learning: classroom instruction and on-the-job training. Apprentices not only learn occupational skills in the classroom, their learning is expanded to include hands-on, paid, on-the-job training.

Workforce Training Programs
AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs, made up of three primary programs that each take a different approach to improving the lives and fostering civic engagement. Members commit their time, usually 10-12 months, to address critical community needs like increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, fighting poverty, sustaining national parks, preparing for disasters, and more.

CA Conservation Corps
The California Conservation Corps program provides young men and women 18-25 years old with a year of paid service to the State of California. During their year of service, Corpsmembers work on environmental projects and respond to natural and man-made disasters (wildfires, floods, etc). Through this work, they gain skills and experience that lead to meaningful careers.

Job Corps
Job corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the US Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. Training is available in areas such as: Accounting Services, Corrections Officer, Culinary Arts, EMT, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Machining, Office Administration, Plumbing, Welding, etc.

SAT & ACT INFORMATION
The California State University (CSU) no longer uses ACT or SAT examinations in determining admission eligibility for all CSU campuses. If accepted to a CSU campus, ACT or SAT test scores can be used as one of the measures to place students in the proper mathematics and written communication courses.
The University of California eliminated its standardized test requirement in 2020. UC no longer considers SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships. Test scores submitted as part of your application, they may be used as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll.
If you currently qualify for free or reduced lunch, you are eligible for a limited number of SAT/ACT fee waivers during your junior and senior years. (Fee waiver not valid for late registration.) If you are eligible, please email Mrs. De Robles at [email protected] for an electronic fee waiver.
The school is issued only a limited number of fee waivers from both ACT and College Board. To send scores to multiple CSU campuses, use the CSU Mentor code: 3594.
