Throughout the school year, student board members Isabella Lara of Baldwin Park High School, Anthony Harley of North Park Continuation High School and Katalina Luna De La Mora of Sierra Vista High School participated in Board of Education meetings, shared campus updates, contributed student perspectives during open session discussions and cast preferential student votes on agenda items.
The students also participated in the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council and leadership development opportunities designed to strengthen collaboration, communication and civic engagement.
District leaders recognized the three seniors for their dedication to amplifying student voice and serving as positive representatives for their school communities throughout the year.

She will attend California State University, Los Angeles, where she plans to major in exercise science while pursuing a future career as a physician assistant.
Harley graduated early in April 2026 and recently secured his first employment opportunity locally. During his term as student board member, he worked to elevate continuation school student perspectives and advocate for student representation at the District level. He is currently researching local community colleges as he prepares to continue his education.
Luna De La Mora, who participated in Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio’s Young Legislators Program, will attend University of San Francisco to study political science as she pursues her goal of becoming a community advocate. She was recently recognized by the National Football Foundation as one of 29 student scholar-athletes, becoming one of the the first female football athletes in the area to receive the recognition.
Together, the three student board members helped strengthen communication between students, schools and District leadership while continuing Baldwin Park Unified’s commitment to student engagement and leadership development.
“We are proud of the leadership they demonstrated throughout the year and excited to see the positive impact they will continue making," Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza said.
