High School Art Students Win Big at SGV District Spring Council Art & Music Competition

Six talented students from Sierra Vista and Baldwin Park high schools secured top honors granted by the Baldwin Park Woman's Club at the San Gabriel Valley Art and Music Competition out of a total of 17 submissions. Students from both high schools submitted outstanding artwork across various themes including: personal connection, creative expression, dark contrast, favorite food, and pop culture.

These young artists claimed first, second, and third place showcasing their remarkable talent and creativity.

“I was inspired by my mom's cultural journey to America and how she suffered from moving around a lot and not always being able to settle down. I think that journey can embed itself into the cultural identities of our families,” said Sierra Vista High School student Vivian Ngo, 1st Place winner for “Mom’s Journey.”

Students will be awarded with a letter of recognition in April.
