Our Mission

The Baldwin Park High School English department is committed to providing students with the knowledge and the experiences necessary to succeed in all aspects of their high school careers as well as preparing them for their future plans.
Our curriculum is aligned with state standards and each student is introduced to and assessed in each of these standards. This preparation will not only allow our students to succeed in our classrooms, but also in the state mandated tests, including both the California High School Exit Examination and the CAT-6 and California Standards Tests.

Homework

Our homework policy, while it varies slightly from teacher to teacher, requires students to complete homework at least 2 times a week. Most of our teachers do not accept late work, but each of us is available for individual student help on an appointment basis.

Senior Project

In each of the four years here, every student is required to complete a research project on a teacher-assigned topic, leading up to the culminating project of each student's high school career, the Senior Project. The Senior Project is a requirement for passing the first semester of senior English, but with three years of preparation, we feel confident that each of our students is capable of completing this project with excellent results.
